High Quality German Filters
Product Description
This UV Filter blocks the invisible UV component of light from the sky, which can cause blur and to which many color films react with a blue cast. These filters should be called UV-Blocking Filters, because there are filters for technical applications that pass UV radiation and block all the other wavelengths. Nevertheless, the short term "UV Filter" has become established among photographers. UV Filters are ideal for photography in high altitudes (in the mountains), by the sea and in regions with very clean air. The pictures gain brilliance and disturbing blue casts are avoided. Because the glass is colorless, color rendition is not altered, aside from the elimination of the unwanted blue cast, and no increase in exposure is required. That makes a UV Filter very suitable as protection of the front element of the taking lens against dust, flying sand, sea water spray and the like, and it can be kept on the lens at all times. It is recommended for analog color and black-and-white as well as digital photography.

 | | Satisfying Product & Fast Delivery | April - 11 - 2010 |

Received the product fours day after placing the purchase order. Bought to fit Canon 50D with an 18-200 lens.
Nice filter and the cap-though not as delicate as the filter-fits well so far.

Superior coated glass and slim brass ring make this filter a top contender on my ultra wide lens.

 | | B&W is the Best | May - 31 - 2009 |
| | by James E. Bunner, Jr. B&W glass is great. Don't purchase top quality lenses and then degrade their optical path with cheap filters. If image quality is your goal - spend the $$ and get B&W filters. This manufacturer gives meticulous attention to the smallest details...it will be reflected in your final image quality. BTW, spend the bucks for quality cleaning gear...if your glass is dirty then it doesn't matter what brand filter you use...

 | | best glass you can get :) | March - 03 - 2009 |
| | by DP This B+W UV filter definitely feels like the most solidly well-built UV I've seen, especially with the heavy metal ring. No plastic flex here, and the threads feel perfectly engineered, gliding smoothly onto the end of your lens with German precision ;)
I bought this to assure myself that I wasn't wasting any bit of my Canon L lenses' image quality because of substandard UV glass. This is pretty much the best you can get on the market, so if you can justify the cost, it's a no-brainer :)

 | | B+W 77mm UV Filter | December - 28 - 2008 |
| | by D. Reyna from Japan
The filter is great. Super thin. If there was anything that I would gripe about it would have to be; there are no threads on the filter (most likely because of the thinness of the filter) and can't attach the original lens cap. Because of this, users have to use the B+W cap which is just a slide-on that has come off many times while taking my camera out of the bag. Overall, the product is nice!
